German - Ukrainian Fellowship Programme
The Max Weber Foundation’s Research Centre Ukraine in Lviv, in collaboration with the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, awards fellowships to historians and social scientists from the German and Ukrainian academic communities. Up to two fellows are supported each year. The fellowship is designed to support scholars and to foster both existing and new collaborations between research institutions in Germany and Ukraine. Funding covers not only individual archival and library research in Ukraine or Germany, but also residencies devoted to the development of research projects or intensive manuscript preparation. Particular emphasis is placed on strengthening academic networks to enhance Ukrainian-German scholarly cooperation. The programme targets outstanding historians and social scientists whose research focuses on East Central Europe and/or German-Ukrainian history. Preference is given to applicants demonstrating academic excellence and whose projects are closely aligned with the research priorities of the Research Centre Ukraine.
The scholarships support stays of between one and six months.
